Recharge you phone by simply twitting a twit, all you twitters. No, you haven't heard of that yet, right? Are you also a twit-brain? Well, if you also happen to be a mobile phone addict, now a phone service in India is providing something much more productive than a one-line rant - recharge your mobile phone simply by twitting a twit. I use Twitter not so much for anything but to simply link my blogs. But recharging my phone with a twit? Yep, yes, yeah, its true, it's a fact, definitely. 

Twittcom is touted to be the first-ever tweet-based platform (of course inspired by Twitter) that would enable you to 'twit' to transact your phone's service packages.

So here are the details: An Indian cell services company Tata Docomo has launched probably the first-of-such ideas called TwittCom. Through Twittcom (more on the technical and what to do later on) all you have to do is send a twit in case you run out of phone balance in the middle of Sahara desert. 

The bad news? The service is only for Tata Docomo GSM pre-paid subscribers in India (eat your heart out, Yankees)

How to recharge your phone through Twitter?

GSM pre-paid customers can recharge and activate a value-added service/application through Twitter just by using hash-tags. 

To register (only for subscribers of the service), go to @tatadocomo, type in #reg <Mobile Number>.

Next you will receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) code, for verification, through an SMS text. 

Once the verification code is verified, go to the Twitter handle again, and type in #code <Pincode> 

After typing in the code, you will receive a tweet confirming your registration.

To activate value-added services, there is a slightly different process: 

Go to the handle (@tatadocomo) and type in #act# <Service><value>. You will receive a 'tweet-back' confirming activation of the service. Simple isn't it?

You can use the service to other special service packages such as GPRS packs, 3G packs and Value Added Services: If you are too lazy to go to Twittcom's help page, here are the complete tweet-actions to start using the service.
